Eye lens is located behind pupil and transparent. Cataract is the loss of transparency of eye lens.

The most incident cause of cataract is age. Sun lights, cortisone use, eye traumas, previously eye diseases, diabetes are also the cause of cataract. Cataract may be genetous too.
 
Most frequent symptoms of cataract are slow reduction in eye sight, frequent change of eye glass number, dazzle in front of light in the night and pale or yellowish sense of colors. 
 
There is no drug to recover or stop it after cataract begins only treatment of cataract is surgery. Today, cataract surgery is carried out by anesthetization of eye using eye drop not staying in the hospital. Eye lens which lost function is cleaned and replaced by an artificial intraocular lens during surgery. This surgery is called briefly as phaco.
 
It is not a correct attitude to wait the cataract mature as is in the history. Application of modern surgery methods requires the cataract is not so hard.  
 
Some type of intraocular eye lenses used in cataract surgery ensures the patient to see long distances without glass as well as in case multifocal and accommodative lenses are used the patient may see both long and short distances without glasses.  
 
After cataract surgery, operated eye is kept closed for a short period and is opened starting by at the latest the after surgery. The patient must not touch the eye water for a period of 7 days. In the period after surgery, protective and curative treatment using eye drops must be applied. 
 
Cataract does not regenerate. Capsule residue of cataract may thicken months after surgery and sight of the patient may reduce again. In this case, the problem is permanently eliminated by a simple light therapy.
